I just discovered Applebee's replaced the old Dixie cafe, and I must confess I may not have even stopped if had I checked Yelp prior to stopping. I seriuosly almost always check my Yelp, but I am glad I didn't this time because they were some pretty unflattering mentions.
I'm really glad because our server "Cartisha" was a terrific attentive server who made sure we had everything we needed, checked on us regularly and was friendly, professional and just a joy. The food was fresh, hot and tasty and it was perfectly timed with salads and a an appetizer. I make special note of that particularly because they did have a party in a private room, with a little more than half full restaurant but our food and drinks were prompt and everything was spot on.
We had the bourbon chicken and shrimp with ceasar salad and jthe bourbon 7 oz sirloin with ceasar salad with their 2 for $25 special. The food was nicely prepared and the flavors were nicely prepped , cooked and spiced. Hey it's not fancy or pretentious because it's a chain and it's Applebee's but we had a nice dinner in a clean, casual and comfortable atmosphere and it was very reasonable.
There's way too many chains that I simply don't get my patronage because the don't make the cut and quite frankly reviewing chains isn't high on my list either but when I go out and spend my time and money at any business, especially a restaurant, and it's this satisfyingly you can count on me to share my experience.
I know there's been a lot of Applebees closings over the last few years but I hope this makes a go if it because it's on my "good to go" list. -

The absolute worst dinning experience. I have been seated 42 minutes.
Took 10 to get a drink after immediately -

This place is THE Worst!
We order through Door Dash. Food was late. It must have been sitting in the back somewhere because it was stone cold and it only go the driver 10 minutes to get here, so I know it wasn't her fault.
Onion Rings were more like teething rings. So over cooked only 2 out of the order were edible!
Ordered 2 burgers, medium well. Only got 1 and it was nearly raw. Couldn't eat it either!
We use Door Dash and others, but never again will we use this Applebee's! -

If I could give this zero stars, I would. The wait staff is AWFUL. COMPLETELY useless. I ordered a to-go order, waited on hold for 5 minutes. When I went to pick it up (naively thinking ordering ahead of time would mean a quick in-and-out), greeter said "what do you want?" With the nastiest scowl I've ever seen on lipsticked lips. As if I barged into her house uninvited. It was 9pm. I called ahead of time. It was like she was offended by my presence.
She points me to the area to pick up my order. No one is there. I stand patiently for a while but then start to look around and notice all the workers who were doing nothing, just chilling looking bored. Not one came to answer my quizzical looks.
After literally 10 minutes, a lady (possibly the only one who was actually working that night) comes and hands me my food. I take my card out of my wallet and went to hand it to her, and by the time I look up she's gone. I wait literally another 10 minutes waiting for her to come back from the kitchen (all the while I can hear her chatting with her coworkers back there while loud rap music played). At this point I'm seriously considering just walking out without paying. I've never had that thought in my life, but after spending so long waiting, I was ready to snap.
Finally Scowl-Lips McGee comes walks by and I explain the situation to her. I have my food, I'm waiting to pay. She either didn't hear me or simply wasn't paying attention the first time, but she asked me to repeat. To her credit, she went back to the kitchen and brought the working lady out immediately.
She asks "is that for here?", while I stand there at the to-go pickup area, holding a takeout bag in my hands.
I pay, and leave. And I've spent another 5 minutes of my life typing this novel in hopes someone reads it and is effectively dissuaded from ever eating here. Go to Taco Bell, better service and better food. Which isn't saying much.
TL; DR the service staff is complete and utter trash, and the food isn't that good, even for a damn Applebee's. -

I thought I was on a hidden camera show! I stopped for dinner with a coworker. I ordered french onion soup and the fried shrimp entree. Shortly afterwards the waitress returned with shrimp alone on a plate. I reminder her I ordered soup and she said it was being prepared. I also said i was supposed to get fries and coleslaw to which she replied the kitchen must have forgotten. (Ummmm...yeah.) So i ate the shrimp and shortly afterwards my fries and slaw arrive. So i eat those and the soup (see picture) arrives. Basically soggy bread since the bowl barely had anything in it. As i eat my soup my coworkers meal arrives.
As i said, im waiting for the punchline and to have someone point out a camera.
Its now no surprise as to why this place is poorly rated. Terrible service. Mediocre food. Id never go back and certainly wouldnt recommend this place.
